The Complex to which this plant project refers is located in Rome, EUR area, and consists of a set of buildings functionally connected to each other, home of Sogei, General Information Society S.p.A., Information Technology company of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, in particular a data processing centre among the most important in Italy, both in terms of the amount of data processed and in terms of the type and importance of the data themselves.
Project “GEMINI”, redesign of the SOGEI site’s power system
Sogei has in fact designed and implemented the Tax Information System, of which he follows conduct and evolution and develops systems, applications and services for the automation and computerization needs of the operational and management processes of the Ministry, Court of Auditors, Tax Agencies and other public administrations. Some 2200 people, allow to ensure the daily operation of 82000 workstations and the direct connection with external bodies, citizens, businesses and professionals, to implement advanced decision-making tools to support the policy and to manage a complex database system, ensuring high standards of quality and safety.
Our project involved the construction of a new general plant network that guarantees a very high degree of safety with regard to the continuity of supply of all equipment, reaching the TIER 4 level, which constitutes the maximum level of security with regard to Data Processing Centers. In particular, the TIER IV aims to ensure availability of 99.995%, equivalent to 0.8 hours of interruption/year and 2N-1 redundancy.
It is the highest level of assurance that a data center can offer, with 99.95 % availability.
These data centers are completely redundant at the level of electrical circuits, cooling, and the network. This architecture allows you to deal with serious technical incidents without ever interrupting the availability of servers.
TRISCIUOGLIO GROUP took care of the reliefs of the existing, the analysis of what was needed and finally carried out the overall project of the entire network mentioned above, consisting of countless processing booths, generator sets, groups of continuity etc., all coordinated in order to ensure the level of security required. He also worked on plant design safety design.
The ultimate goal of our project was to create, for each supply line, two twin branches, so that in case of emergency the entire load fed “in normal” in the emergency network.
